`You shouldn't give up who you are, for anyone. If someone cares about you, or loves you, they will love you no matter how you dress/who you are. Thats the whole point. Don't change who you are for someone else, find someone who likes (and loves) you for you.

`I cannot tell you what you should or shouldn't do. It is your decision how to handle your relationship and yourself. I believe no matter what, people should be themselves. If someone couldn't accept me the way I was, I don't think I would change who I am as a person or what I like for them. There are particular exceptions, but this should be rare. I think he needs to except you the way you are, even if parts of you "make him cringe". I just read this post now, and I'm not sure how your relationship status is now that I have replied to it. Nonetheless, I hope you feel whatever decision you made was the right one for YOU, no one else.
